Hi all,
Well this week has had its ups and downs for sure!
Here is the down -
This little stuntman broke his arm on Saturday. He fell off a stool in the kitchen, looking at this photo I wonder what he was doing on the stool….
It took awhile to sort out because the first hospital said it was dislocated and put it back in – all by feel, no x-ray. The doctor did x-ray his shoulder to check the collar bone which is fine.
So next we took him to our GP when he still wasn’t using his arm and got an x-ray of his elbow – GP said the x-ray looked okay but when the results came back from the Imaging people they said maybe a fracture.
Then we had to take him to a different hospital that has a Orthopaedic department. They put it in a half cast and made an appointment to see the specialist 2 days later. When we saw the specialist yesterday they cut the cast off and had a look at the x-rays and said yes it is fractured.
They said he could just have a sling on 24/7 for 3 weeks and I said that is not going to happen, the sling won’t last 1/2 hour. So they put a cast on for 10 more days and then he has another x-ray to decide what happens next.
That’s the short and sweet version! As you can see from the photo he hasn’t slowed down any. When I was taking the photos he says “Mummy get one of me standing on one leg”!
Here is an up that happened -
This is my fabrics for the Rainbow Charm Swap. My colours are – blue-green, red-orange, green, violet and yellow.
I can’t wait to start cutting them up!

Oh no, poor little sausage! Hope his arm is healing well. It doesn't seem to have him scarred to much as he is still full of spunk! Nice fabrics!
Kids are great. They dont let little things (like broken bones) get them down. What a brave boy. Love your fabrics. Blessings B.
Poor little man and poor mum and dad. I hope he heals quickly.
What a fiddle around with the hospital and doctors! Hope everything goes well with the healing of the arm and that's enough unwanted excitement for you for a while.
Those are really nice fabrics :).
Cheers,
Robyn
Yikes I think the medical merry go round is nearly as painful as the fall! Poor kid I hope he is feeling better and wasnt in pain while the experts made up their minds. Glad there was an upside to that adventure...another story for his 21st? Happy quilting with your new fabrics, Sue SA.
We used to joke that my youngest was trying her best to get a scar - she finally managed by 3yr old to get one on her forehead between her eyes! Looks like your little guy is practicing to find something else to break! As Sue said - plenty of ammo for the 21st.
Love the swap fabrics!
Oh Jess, he looks like a little powerhouse...no stopping him regardless!!!! Thank goodness it's sorted though and all's now on the up and up!
there seems to be plenty of ups and downs in blogland this week!
sugary hugs
wendy :O) xo
Jess he's just so cute. Kiddo's have a way of bouncing back and not letting things get them down. Too bad we all can't hang onto that spirit and sense of fun and adventure. :)
xx
Oh...fabulous fabrics!
Oh poor little thing!
Wise choice to avoid a sling, I felt like gluing Madams on when she fractured her wrist because she had it off that much. Hope he's bouncing back well :D
