Hi all,
Today, in Queensland anyway, is Teacher Appreciation Day. A day to say thank you for being a great teacher.
My son has 2 teachers that share the week and a teacher aide who is there all the time. So I needed 3 quick and easy presents…nothing too over the top.
I got the idea for fabric bookmarks from here. But of course I had to make them scrappier.
You can use up some left over charm squares for these. For the flowers I used 4 matching fabrics and used the leftovers for the bookmark. So you would only need 5 charm squares per bookmark! And a piece of heavy interfacing.
The flowers come from a book called Kanzashi in Bloom, but I have just found a tutorial here for you.
I used metal buttons that you cover yourself. You can get the kits from the Haby Goddess. It is the first time I have used them and I am so in love…super easy to make and don’t they match so well?
The bookmarks measure 10” x 2” and the flowers are 2” across diameter.

I bet the teachers are going to appreciate these, they're perfect for a small gift. I know my DD will appreciate making these so I'll pass it on. The flowers are the icing on the top!

Love these bookmarks Jess. I will have to make one for mum for Christmas!! Nice to meet another Aussie blogger to:)
We certainly did love them! They were our favourite presents, because they were handmade. Thanks Jessica
What a gorgeous gift Jess! Perfect for end of year teacher gifts too.
Thank you for giving the link to the button kits - they're a little addictive aren't they :)
