Hi all,
Retreat was great! It was soooo nice not to have to wash up, cook and do washing for a couple of days, although I came home to a sink full of dishes.
This is what I started with…over 420 little cream squares and the same amount of blue squares, ready to make half square triangles. Yes over 800!
This is how far I got. About half of the cream and blue squares sewn together and some of the “broken dish” blocks sewn together. This pattern is in the latest Homespun magazine.
I wanted to have a finish to show for the weekend so I put together this Ooshka Boy. Pattern is by The Red Thread, as is the gorgeous face panel. This is the only boy she does at the moment. The boys love him and I will need to make a second because he is causing a few fights. I actually stuffed him when I got home but otherwise he was finished at the retreat.
This is the sweat shop! Mum is in the front left working on some machine embroidery. There was about 23 ladies and I won’t be able to tell you all their names. Too many people to get to know in one weekend for me – I am a shocker with names!
One of the mini workshops was decorating these travel mugs. The bottom screws off and we used special paper you embroider on and decorate with some flower punches and bling! Which then goes up in behind a clear layer and it is supposed to be water-proof.
Now for a little guessing game! The first person to guess correctly which mug I made will win something…I don’t know what yet but I will come up with something to suit the winner!

I have nothing to base my decision on but I'm going with the purple stripey one on the bottom
I'm going to guess the lime green one with the red flowers in the bottom middle.
I think the green one with the purple flower, looks like you had a great time
Christine
I think the one in the second row on the right end - brown and white base with a yellow and orange flower.
last one on the bottom right???.....silver and white with black and purple flower perhaps????
thanks for the fun game Jess
and..... Retreats ARE so much fun! Pity the boys don't play fair!!!! hehehe
XXX sugary hugs
Wendy :O)
I say the third from the left in the bottom row! Glad to hear you had a lovely time at your retreat and it seems you did quite a bit of sewing as well.
I'll go for the blue one on the bottom row. They are all cute.
I think that yours is the one on the bottom row, third to the left (dark blue background with bright green flowers).
3rd from bottom left. Have no idea why I think that! hee, hee, hee. Glad you had a fun time!

Wow. Looks like you had a wonderful time. I think it is the purple one on the second row (4th from Left). The Ooshka boy is so cute and I don't envy you making all those HST's.
I'll say fourth from left, that's a totally random choice but they all look great. So glad you had such a great time. The boy figure is cute!
Lucky you, I love going on a retreat, the longer the better. I choose the green with the red flower on the bottom row.
Hi, Sounds like you had a lovely time. I think you did the first one (far left) on the second row that has the silvery blue and I see a bit of green, flowers on it. Catch you on Friday.

Sounds like a lot of fun. I love the doll. I think your mug might be the purple stripe one.
