Envelope Ipad Cover Tutorial
Wow I can’t believe it has been over 10 days since we chatted!
This is what I have been working on….
I made this Ipad Cover at the request of my friend Christine…This post is probably a bit of a spoiler because she hasn’t received it yet!
I have written up a tutorial for anyone who might be interested.
The Envelope Ipad Cover Tutorial can be found here in PDF form!
(edited 13/7/12, I have removed to PDF from the net for a short time, sorry for any inconvenience!)
As you can see it fits the Ipad perfectly! It has some padding for protection and I used the velcro so that there wouldn’t be anything hard or pointy rubbing against the Ipad.
This is my first tutorial done like this so if you have any problems or ideas on how to do it better please let me know!

happenings…
Hi Everyone!
Yesterday (well over the last few days really) I made something and I am very excited about it…I love how it turned out! I am working on writing up a tutorial for it so I will only give you a sneak peek today…
Now I know of lot of you guys have the item that this is made for but I don’t so for the life of me I hope it is the right size! I guess I should find someone to test it for me…maybe I should just duck down to The Good Guys and try it with one in their shop. Anyway my fingers are crossed!
There has been other things getting worked on too…
The May block for QCA Bee is at the bottom. My new Hugs and Kisses pattern “Rules of Life” is getting started, I have been playing with my Cosmo threads selecting the colours. And while looking for threads I found this stitchery by Natalie Lymer that is almost finished…why does that always happen! So I think I should finish that off first!
My mind is a whirl of creative thoughts and projects…must be a sign that I am coming good! My creative mojo is back!

What a week!
Hi everyone!
I have done a few things in the last week but it has been pretty slow, we have been and still are a bit sick.
TP picked up tonsillitis from somewhere nearly 2 weeks ago and bought it home to share with myself and hubby…the youngest had a skin infection on his shin that is now looking really good and is pretty well cleared up. TP has still got some fluid behind his ear drum that we are waiting to dry up and I am trying to clear a sinus infection…the lesson here is that kids and bugs love each other!
Anyway, before I got sick I met up with Jane for coffee! It was great catching up….BTW if there is anyone reading who lives on the North side of Brisbane - Jane is starting up a Modern Quilt Guild for us, so exciting! Let me know if you want some details and I will give Jane your email!
Lookee what I got! Jane had some early release precuts of Sweetwaters’ new range Sew Mama Said….how could I resist! I LOVE Sweetwater!
And 2 charm packs of 30’s Playtime…so pretty and vintagey! I have plans for these – I just need more time!
I managed to get some blocks made for the second round of the Japanese X and + block swap.
I kinda cheated and made 2 sets of 6 nearly identical blocks…I am trying to conserve time and I figure there should be enough peeps in the swap for no one to end up with two of my blocks.
And I have been working on my items for the QCA Handmade Swap…here is a sneak peek!
Inside!
Outside!
I am worried that it is not enough….is that weird? I just don’t know…

Ivy’s Quilt
Hi everyone!
Look what I finally photographed today….
It is a sampler quilt I started last year – mainly to do practice blocks for the bee I was in but that was not going to give me enough blocks so I used Quiltmakers 100 blocks magazines and the Modern Blocks book for extra inspiration! And one block I drew up on EQ7 just for the fun of it!
99% of the fabric is “Where the wind blows” and is just perfect for a little girl!
And the quilt is a fairly generous single bed size – I honestly don’t feel like getting up to measure it right now!
I could figure it out though, the blocks are 12” and 2” sashings and about 5” borders….got your calculators out girls? 54” x 82” sounds about right!
This is the first quilt I have quilted on the Short-arm quilting machine that I am looking after for my SIL…I am pretty happy with how it turned out! And so much quicker then wrestling it through my regular machine!
Don’t you just love a polka dot binding?!
Here is the label and the backing fabric…I know my recipients mum is a follower but I don’t think she is a regular reader – if she is she’ll have to “shhh”!
The only thing I haven’t done is washed it…I know a lot of people do this before gifting quilts. What do you think I should do?

KCWC 2012
Hi Everyone!
So today is the last day for the Kids Clothing Week Challenge (aka KCWC) 2012…
The deal was you spend one hour a day for the week sewing kids clothes…I knew I wouldn’t be able to do one hour a day so I kept my goal small and committed to something I already had the fabric and pattern for.
So this is what I started with….2 metres of “super” flannel, 1 metre of black Bella solid and 2 long sleeve Target T’s. The pattern is Basic Pocket Pants from the Growing Up Sew Liberated book.
Now, it is so difficult getting good photos when the little people are crazy excited! They think their new PJ’s give them super powers!
I love how the pants look! Once I figured out how the waist band worked they went together really easily. For TP’s (who is 6 yrs old) I made the size 5 pattern and made the legs 1” longer.
I appliqued “BAM!” and “POW!” onto the shirts using the flannel.
And the verdict is 2 very big thumbs up! And you can’t get any better than that!
I think there will be more of these pants in my future, they are easy to make and really versatile – I can see them in denim, corduroy and more flannel!
Did you participate? Leave me a link so I can check out what you made!
