Blogiversary time!

Hi everyone,

So today I have been blogging for 3 years! This brings up happy and sad emotions, it actually makes me feel rather melancholy!

Looking back at the first few posts I wrote makes me feel quite depressed, the reason I started blogging in the first place has become a UFO.

This is the Josephs Coat QAL….which actually never had the final finishing instructions posted. But I really should get this out and do something with it.

And the 2nd quilt I blogged about is also a UFO.

This is a Mariners Compass quilt that I was doing in a class. When the classes stopped I kind of got bogged down with the needleturn and I guess I gave up. I really need to get this one out too.

Doesn’t unfinished business make you feel bad?!

But there have also been a lot of positives in my blogging experience!

I have made a few, what I would say are good international blogging friends….I feel I know a bit about them and they know a bit about me and one day it would be fantastic to meet up!

I have also made and met a couple of friends who live fairly local. We have sewing days every now and then and we have even had a retreat!

The shared knowledge and freely giving of patterns and tutorials is awe inspiring. Swaps have been a great way of meeting and sharing with other bloggers. Not to mention giveaways I have won, not that there has been any lately but I have won my fair share over the years!

Which leads into this…

Tufted Tweets bag

To celebrate my blogs anniversary I am going to give away one Reversible Shopping Tote. It has Red Chevrons for the lining/reverse fabric. And it rolls up so you can keep it in your handbag.

To enter all you need to do is be a follower and leave a comment. I would love to hear about your blogging experience if you have one, otherwise just say something nice! I will announce the winner a week from today!

I am also thinking about closing my Etsy shop (closing and opening doors) …. so I am having a sale – 50% off! You only need the coupon code which is – blogiversary – how easy is that!

Here’s to another 3 years!

Happy Blogaversary. Most of the time I've enjoyed my blog but a few times I've had to step away. Congrats on 3 years.

Happy blogiversary! I love the Joseph's Coat design but I don't think I'd have the staying power to finish one either!

Congratulations on your blogiversary! I think that you just need to make your two UFO's part of a commitment to finish...and keep track of your progress on your blog. I tried to finish all my UFO's in one year and then extended it to two...it worked and I enjoyed the process because I got some quick finishes and got to make some other projects in between. Perhaps you can take one of these to your next group sewing day to get some help/feedback, always motivating to have some fresh input when you mentally have a block about a project. And worst things ever ... swap or sell them... I went to a retreat once where we had a swap table, you left your unwanted mags, patterns, projects and took someone elses....I finished those new projects much quicker then some that I paid full price for!

Yay for 3 years! That is an exciting thing, don't feel melancholic. I think it's quite a commitment and an achievement.

Happy anniversary Jess :)
Your first two quilt projects are both ones that interested me also... the JC quilt along... I really wanted to do that, but had a reality check lol... I knew it would sit for me...
Your 2nd, I'm still working one too!
I love them both and remember, they're only UFOs for now ;)
Changes can be good... wishing you 3 more happy years of future blogging :)

i so hope you get to finish those UFO's. The second in particular is spectacular.. i recently finished a project begun more than 10 years ago... well its not quilted yet.. but the top is done. I don't have a blog of my own , but belong and contribute to a group blog.. It is quite stressful thinking of the bright and breezy way to say things, no way could i have a blog on my own..

So we jumpfed off the starting block together (almost). I had too laugh at your Joseph's Coat blocks. Mine are at about the same stage. One day we get back to them, promise???
Congratulations to your anniversary and I' happy to have you as one of my dear blogging friends. Greetings from Nepal!

Happy Blogiversary Jess. I too started the Josephs Coat quilt along but only managed two blocks!!
I have been an on and off blogger and haven't blogged for about 8 months due to some unpleasant backlash by a nasty person (not a quilter) that made me very weary.
I have still been in Blogland and about to start posting again.
Hope to see you around for another three, and more, years.

Happy Blogiversary! I enjoy your blog very much. I like to admire your QAL blocks as they come out. Have not joined as I do not need any UFOs...or rather more UFOs. Thank you for sharing.

Congratulations on 3 years!
I have lots of UFOs too! when I come across something I know I'll never finish I take it to my sewing group and pass it on!! it's often easier to finish someone else's UFO!!
Great giveaway - thanks!

Happy blogiversary Jess. I have been following your blog since you became the recipient of my ALQS quilt. I'll have to count back, but it must be nearly 3 years also. Your UFOs are beautiful. You should finish them. Or use what you've done to make a smaller quilt. Love the shopper. I admired the two you made for your mum and you to take to the quilt show. Keep blogging. I love to hear what you are making. xx

Congratulations on your anniversary! It sounds like you have had an overwhelmingly positive experience.although I also find looking back at my early posts a little cringe worthy lol I've found crafty bloggers to be so positive and encouraging :)

Wow...I guess that means I've been blogging 3 years too b/c I also started with that Joseph's Coat QAL. I did eventually get mine done, but I have 20 other UFO's waiting to be finished.

I can't imagine life without blogs and bloggy friends.
With a UFO or 2 (or more) there's always a project to work on ;P
